"The dating in the season of blossom, poems and ink wash paintings of Dal-Jae HUH and Fan Xueyi" is going to be held in XYZ gallery in Beijing on April, 6th, 2014. Different from Dal-Jae HUH's solo exhibition in National Art Museum of China in 2010 and exhibition in Guan Shanyue Museum in 2012, all the 70 paintings of this exhibition are created by Dal-Jae HUH and Fan Xueyi together. Their works will be shown in the season of blossom because of art and friendship.
Dal-Jae HUH is curator of Korean Gwangju Yizhai Art Museum, famous Korean ink wash painting artist, and also grandson of Xu Baizhen, master of South painting school of Korea. Xu Baizhen created South ink wash painting School. Today, it has been the representative of Korean Art homeland. Dal-Jae HUH is the most symbolic contemporary artist transcending the tradition of South Painting School, not only because he is grandson of Xu Baizhen, but also because he reappear the aesthetic sense of combining tradition and modernity, as well as the aspiration for Oriental spirit of Xu Baizhen. His works has the bold and delicate brush and elegant and long lasting colors.
Fan Xueyi is a poet and also a poetic painter. Her poets and paintings publications include "River of childhood", "letters from secret garden", "Flowers in the cloud", "Season Pier", "Season flowers and grass", etc. Her poems have been used in many movies, among those, she wrote the lyrics for the song "everything I do for love", composed by Tan Dun for the movie "Banquet" directed by Feng Xiaogang, is widely known.
Experiencing the beauty of seasons and nature as well as the happiness of discovery, they provide Fan Xueyi's poems and paintings a unique aesthetic feelings. She put the literature fantasy, sorrowful beauty and rhythm of nature together, showing a metaphor for the deep and a little sorrowful feeling for nature and life. She tried to discover the existing beauty of nature and seek the relationship between nature and human feeling and spiritual culture.
China and Korea have the same root of culture. Two artists' modern expression of Chinese painting approach different angles of understanding, whilst keeping consistent with each other. Ink wash painting is still a manner of modern people for expressing sensitive emotions and aspiring for human feelings. Thus, we believe the artworks of Dal-Jae HUH and Fan Xueyi provide us another angle of observation. And it is because of Dal-Jae HUH and Fan Xueyi, who are transcending traditional culture in the situation of contemporary culture, that traditional ink wash painting acquires a deepen and open creating space.

“花开时节又逢君”韩国画家直轩-许达哉与中国诗人范学宜的诗画水墨展于2014年4月6日在北京XYZ画廊开幕，有别于许达哉先生2010年中国美术馆及2012年关山月美术馆的个人展览，本次展览中近70幅作品由许达哉及范学宜共同创作——许达哉的画意及范学宜的诗情，因艺术、因友情…在花开时节呈现。
许达哉先生是韩国光州毅斋美术馆馆长，韩国资深的水墨艺术家，韩国南道画派巨匠毅斋-许百鍊的长孙、嫡传门人。毅斋先生是南道山水画（指韩国全南地方一带的山水画）的集大成者，并创造了南道山水画派（包括：小痴、米山、南农等画家传承的不同艺脉）。今天，毅斋和南农所代表的南道山水画已成为韩国艺术之乡的代名词。许达哉是承接南道山水画巨匠毅斋艺脉的当代代表性画家，这不只是因为许达哉是毅斋先生之长孙的血缘关系之故，更是因为他展现了毅斋所追求的东方精神和传统与现代相融合的审美意识。作品以大胆而细腻的运笔和端庄文雅的赋彩耐人回味。
范学宜，是一位诗人，也是一位充满了诗人气质的画家。先后出版诗集、诗画集《童年河》、《秘密花园的来信》、《云中花》、《四季码头》、《四季芳草》等，众多诗歌被谱曲用于多部影视作品，其中与谭盾先生合作的冯小刚电影《夜宴》片尾曲《我用所有报答爱》广为传唱。
感受过春夏秋冬自然之美的存在与发现的幸福…使学宜的诗、画作品具有了独特的美学情愫；將文学幻想的感觉、忧伤的美丽、大自然的节律尽情揽入，隐喻齣对自然、人生的深深眷恋和淡淡伤感的意境。发現自然风物之美的存在並將自然与人的感情、精神文化反生联系，追寻自然美与人的心境、命运之間的玄妙关系…
中韩两国有着共同的文化渊源，本次展览的作品，二位艺术家对文人绘画的现代阐述有着不同角度的理解，又具有高度的一致性！水墨艺术仍然是当代人表达敏感的个人情绪和向往人文情怀的手段，因而，我们相信许达哉及范学宜的艺术为我们提供了另一种观察视角。也正是有许达哉、范学宜这样一批探究当代文化境阈中承续传统文化的艺术家，当代传统水墨才获得了更加深入而开放的创造空间。
